USA Today ran an article yesterday about a company that’s set up a web site allowing you to schedule a cab on-line.

They’re operating in 40 market’s, including Boston.
I checked on availability and cost of a ride from my office in Government Center to Logan. It’s $16, which is supposed to include everything, fare, tips, taxes, tolls.
I haven’t actually used the service, primarily because I don’t need to go anywhere, and I don’t want to fork over $16 just to see if it works. So I can’t comment on whether it works or not.
I’m also not sure if the price is better, worse or the same as it would have been if I’d walked out on the street and waved.
But I like the concept.
