So how long before we give Manny a day off? He went 0-3 last night with a walk and 3 relatively ground outs- 2 to the opposite side so he's not even getting around on ground balls. For those of you keeping track-Doug Mirabelli has 2 more HRs than Manny. Ouch.
Manny's day off is not going to come in the Yankee series so do we keep him in the line-up today hoping that he will snap out of it going into this weekends series? In 13 games he has 9 hits. Last year in a very slow start he was hitting .239 after 13 games, with no HRs- his 1st HR came in game 17.
And let's not even talk about Coco .136 Crisp who also went hitless again last night.
On a much more positive note- you've got to love Tim Wakefield. 7 innings-1 run. An ERA of 1.35, and yes he'll be 41 in a few months.
