For the first time in his career Randy Moss is not the one holding the hammer. When he was drafted by the Vikings in 1998 he was to be the club’s savior, he was “the man” of the Vikings. With New England, for the first time in his career, he is just “another man.” Moss has no leverage with the Patriots who will only pay him $3 million as opposed to the $9.75 he was due to receive and the contract is not guaranteed. With the Vikings and Raiders Moss had a long leash, here in New England Moss will be under the microcope 24/7, on and off the field. There won’t be any discussions with any transgressions, he’ll simply be out of work. Fear can be a great motivator and so can winning. The Pats are banking on the latter.
